MASSIMO CAVALLI 1883

OUR STORY

Massimo Cavalli 1883 Srl was founded in Valenza in 1883 by master goldsmith Massimo Cavalli . For four generations , it has selected and marketed cut diamonds for leading international brands.

The company Massimo Cavalli 1883 Srl get its name from its founder, Massimo Cavalli, one of the master goldsmiths of the city of Valenza. Born in 1857, Massimo Cavalli began his apprenticeship in the nascent field of goldsmithing at a very young age, so much so that at only 26 years old he was already able to open, in 1883, a company that still bears his name.

His gold creations, set with precious stones of the highest quality, enabled him in a short time to collect important customers in the Turin nobility, and particularly the Royal House, where he has been able to be appreciated for its beautiful solid chain gold handbags.

After fighting in World War I, Massimo's son, Celestino, one of the legendary “Boys of '99” - who distinguished themselves in the highlights of the conflict in spite of their teenage years - joined him in the business.

Right from the beginning, Celestino showed a keen sensitivity and attraction to the world of precious gems, diamonds in particular, and began cultivating important relationships with major global players in the 1920’s.

This approach has been followed and increased in turn by Celestino's son, Massimo, who from the late 1950’s spended long periods in Holland, South Africa and the United States, acquiring extraordinary experience in the grading and marketing of diamonds, not only brilliant cut but also in the so-called “Fancy” shapes that almost no people was understanding or dealing with. At this point of time, and in the Sixties also, Massimo Cavalli was the only one in Italy to have in his hands solid big parcels of these Fancy Shape diamonds to purpose to the customers.

It is mainly for its diamonds and their unique and incomparable quality and brilliance that the company achieves the highest notoriety, a guarantee of quality that is still the main feature of Massimo Cavalli 1883 today.

Now drived by its fourth generation, the company's focus remains on the import, selection and sale of natural diamonds. All these operations are managed in total compliance with both Kimberly Process and System of Warranties.

Over the decades, strengthened by more than 140 years of experience into the global market, Massimo Cavalli 1883 has been able to refine its skills, selecting clients and orienting its services essentially towards the most important international jewelry brands.

They are guaranteed the best value for money, as well as timely and impeccable service.

All this within a framework that puts ethics and transparency first: for this reason, Massimo Cavalli 1883’s suppliers are selected primarily in relation to their reputation and their work organization, which must be objectively ethical and sustainable.

Certain that this ethical supply chain can only be well received by its top-tier clients, the company aims to create the correct mix of tradition and innovation, interpreting changing social scenarios in a way that creates more and more sustainable value while respecting the environment and future generations.
